AFBS Network Membership

Terms & Conditions

Last updated: March 2026

By applying to and participating in the AFBS Network Membership programme, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before submitting your application.

1. Membership Eligibility & Approval

Membership in the AFBS Network is subject to approval by the AFBS team. Submitting an application does not guarantee membership. The Africa Family Business Summit reserves the right to accept or decline any application at its sole discretion, without obligation to provide reasons for its decision.

2. Accuracy of Information

By submitting your application, you confirm that all information provided is accurate, truthful, and complete. AFBS reserves the right to revoke membership at any time if information is found to be false or misleading.

3. Member Directory & Privacy

As an AFBS Network member, your basic profile information — including your name, organisation, country, job title, and any optional fields you choose to complete (such as areas of expertise and LinkedIn profile) — may be visible to other verified AFBS Network members through the Member Directory.

By accepting these terms, you consent to this limited sharing of your professional profile within the AFBS Network community. The following apply:

  • Your contact information (email address and phone number) will not be publicly listed in the directory by default.
  • The Member Directory is accessible only to approved, logged-in AFBS Network members.
  • Members must not use directory information for unsolicited marketing, spam, or any purpose unrelated to legitimate professional networking within the AFBS community.
  • You may request removal or restriction of your profile from the directory at any time by contacting info@afbsummit.org.

4. Data Protection & Confidentiality

AFBS is committed to protecting your personal data. Information collected through the membership programme will be used solely for the purposes of membership administration, event communication, and community building. Your data will not be sold or shared with third parties outside the AFBS Network without your explicit consent, except where required by law.

5. Code of Conduct

All AFBS Network members are expected to conduct themselves with professionalism and integrity. Members must not:

  • Use the Member Directory or member communications for spam, solicitation, or commercial promotions without prior consent from AFBS.
  • Misrepresent their affiliation with AFBS or use the AFBS name and brand without authorisation.
  • Engage in any conduct that is harmful, discriminatory, or brings the AFBS Network into disrepute.

AFBS reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership for any violation of this code of conduct.

6. Membership Fees & Payments

Membership fees are as published on the AFBS Membership page and are subject to change. Fees are non-refundable once payment has been processed, except at AFBS's discretion. Payment may be made online or via bank deposit as indicated upon approval.

7. Intellectual Property

The AFBS name, logo, and all associated branding are the intellectual property of the Africa Family Business Summit. Members may not reproduce or use AFBS branding without explicit written permission.

8. Amendments

AFBS reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Members will be notified of material changes via email. Continued use of membership benefits following notification constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
